Pupils create own poems in Prep competition
Young poets showcased their skills at an inter-house poetry competition.
There were a host of entries from our pupils for the competition, which took place in the weeks leading up to the Christmas break.
After each poem was judged, the overall winners of the competition were Snowdon, with Brecon coming in a close second and Pembroke third.
In Year 3 the first prize was awarded to Tristan Griffiths, with Georgia Brown and Tori Maddocks coming in joint-second.
The Year 4 entries were of an extremely high standard, with Anna Heyes taking first, Gabriele Subkovaite in second and Ella Northcott third.
Another strong set of poems from Year 5 saw Ruby Merrick claim first place, with Eve Durrans second and Zac Roberts in third.
Noah Langford emerged from the Year 6 competition as the winner, with Katie Pritchard-Jones coming a close second and Niall Richardson in third.
Mrs Hind, said: “This was a great opportunity for all children across Years 3 to 6 to get involved and show their creative writing talents, and this year’s poems were well written and of a very high standard.
“Congratulations go to all the winners and indeed every pupil that took part.”
