Pupils and staff raise funds for good causes
Pupils and staff wore Onesies and Tutus to class in aid of charity.
Colourful outfits shone brightly throughout the school, which the pupils had requested especially to raise awareness of Diabetes, while also raising money for national charity Diabetes UK.
Everyone taking part in the event, held on Monday, September 28, donated £2 to wear their own outfits, while Mr McDuff also lent his support to the cause by donning a white tutu during the morning break.
Mrs Hind, said: “The children wrote to Mr McDuff to request an event for Diabetes, and they have been busy researching the disease to learn more about just how it can affect you in day-to-day life."
Our pupils also turned into turned into superheroes during the term to raise funds for Children in Need.
The pupils made their annual contribution to the national fundraising drive, which took place on Friday, November 13, and were allowed to come in fancy dress or their own clothes for a small donation.
There were a host of fantastic outfits on show, including comic and screen heroes Superman, Captain America and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Some of the more unusual costumes included all-knowing Star Wars character Yoda, villain Darth Vader, legendary cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins and a medieval English soldier.
Mr McDuff said: “Once again the pupils made a fantastic effort to raise funds for Children in Need, which is one of the most prominent charities in the UK.
“There was a wide range of fancy dress on offer and it seems that parents had gone to a lot of trouble, so on behalf of the school I would like to offer my sincerest thanks for that.
“We are always looking for ways to help charities here at the Prep School, and it is wonderful that our pupils are so keen to get involved in our fundraising efforts.”
Staff and parents turned into elves for the day in the name of charity.
The festive felines donned their best elf outfits for the annual Secret Santa initiative, which took place on Tuesday, December 7.
For a small donation pupils entered a Secrets Room where they could pick two gifts of their choosing to give to whomever they wished on Christmas Day, before having them specially wrapped by the school’s resident elves before returning to the classroom.
They also received some finely wrapped reindeer food to leave out for Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
Hundreds of pounds were raised from the event, which will be donated to our ongoing charity work in Uganda.
