U16s win national championship
A huge congratulations go to our Boys' U16 hockey side, who were crowned national champions at the Hockey Wales National Schools Finals.
Despite being a goal down at half-time, the team responded brilliantly to come away 3-1 winners over South Wales team, Ysgol Glantaf, after a rousing second half display.
They were captained superbly by Alexander Benfield, with other performances of note from Tawanda Harris, Jack Jones, Adam Lee-Browne, keeper Josh Thomas and vice-captain Sam Khorram-Sefat.
To reach the finals, the talented side emerged victorious from the North Wales regional tournament.
Mr Mather, said: “This was a fabulous effort from our U16 side, and to be crowned national champions is an unbelievable achievement.
“It has been a great year for our hockey teams across all age groups, which is a testament to how hard both they and our staff have worked throughout.
“This is a fantastic platform to build for the future and hopefully next season will bring with it even more success.”
In addition to the U16 success, the school’s U14 and U12s were also competing at the finals, and performed well in the face of stern competition.
