Pupils volunteer at Colwyn Bay showcase
Our helpful pupils lent their support to this year’s Colwyn Bay Forties Festival.
Thousands of people once again descended on the town for the annual event, which saw the area transformed into the 1940s for the fifth consecutive year.
This year pupils were heavily involved volunteering with stands, displays and collecting money, which went towards the overall running of the festival.
In addition the Rydal Penrhos Jazz Band thrilled audiences over both days with two wonderful performances.
Sixth form pupils Grace Patrick and Adele Parry got into the '40s spirit by dressing up in traditional costume, while Augustus Skierus and Lluis Beringues Marti were praised for their outstanding fundraising efforts throughout the event.
Attractions included a military and firearms display and a performance by Colwyn Bay Ukulele Group, while the World War II battle also drew large crowds on Sunday.
Mr McDuff, said: “The Forties Festival was a huge success and it was great to see so many of our pupils give their time to help at the event.
“Our Jazz Band performed exceptionally on both days of the festival, and our pupils were on hand to help in whatever way possible to contribute to what is an extremely beneficial day for businesses and the Colwyn Bay community in general.”
