Mr Smith's 'delight' at Lonely Planet list
Mr Smith has spoken of his delight after North Wales was named among the top places in the world to visit in 2017 according to Lonely Planet’s annual Best in Travel list.
The region was the only UK destination to be featured in the rankings, which are compiled by a panel of the travel publisher’s experts.
Our Headmaster elect, who will take up his position in January, said: “I was delighted to see that the Lonely Planet team have recognised the region's beauty and benefits.
“Our pupils, staff and many of our parents already know what a privilege it is to live and learn in such an inspiring part of the world.
“North Wales offers something for all our pupils be they sailors, skiers, artists, climbers or someone looking for an outstanding all-round education.
"Rydal Penrhos is uniquely placed to take full advantage of both the physical features and ongoing leisure developments in the area.
"They enable us to provide a boarding education that emphasises the importance of leadership and character building in a safe and healthy location."
