Year 7 surprise Merton Place residents
Caring pupils brought some festive cheer to residents of a Colwyn Bay care home.
The Year 7 group visited five Merton Place Residential Home residents over a number of weeks, and found out more about their lives before they arrived at the facility.
Following their chats, the groups made special memory boxes for each resident, detailing their lives, likes and dislikes, important moments and fond memories.
Deputy Head Mr Cashell, together with the pupils, presented them to each resident on Wednesday, December 12.
This is the latest in a series of community initiatives organised by Rydal Penrhos over the festive period, which include charity events and singing at a number of venues including Merton Place.
Mr Cashell, said: “Both I and our pupils have found the experience very rewarding and they have also written some reflections, which I am looking forward to reading.
“I would like to thank Eleri Williams and the residents of Merton Place for taking the time to speak to our pupils, and making them feel so welcome.
“We were humbled by some of the stories they told and the experience was a fantastic one.”
