Foursome thrive at comp
The team comprised of Gowri Pradeep, Arend Franssens, Richard Wolfendale and Alicia Zhou finished runners-up in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s 'Top of the Bench' regional heat, which was held at Bangor University on Wednesday, January 25.
During the competition the four pupils had to answer a series of questions together as a team, before being split up to answer additional chemistry puzzles.
After a highly competitive day of action the foursome finished in second place, just three points away from top spot.
This is the latest in a long line of success for Rydal Penrhos in the event, with Mili Jayadeep, Imogen Camp, Eddie Farrell and Ioan Peake-Jones reaching the national final last year.
Pender, said: “All four pupils performed very well and did an excellent job of representing the school.”
