Pupils take the stage
Anna Heyes, Cerys Williams and Gabriele Subkovaite came through their Grade 1 Ballet grading with flying colours, which were administered by the Royal Academy of Dance.
The trio, who all hone their craft at the Pearl Shaw School of Performing Arts in Colwyn Bay, will now begin working hard in the hope of further honours in the future.
Anna performed well to achieve a Merit grade during her exam, while both Cerys and Gabriele managed to secure Distinctions for their efforts.
This is the latest in a long line of extra-curricular success stories for Rydal Penrhos, with many committing their own time to achieve success in various fields including music, drama and performing arts.
Mrs Hind, said: “Congratulations to Cerys, Gabriele and Anna on their Ballet grading success.
“Achieving things outside of the classroom is something our pupils do a fantastic job of; making the most of their time and maximising their huge potential.”
Ava Culver produced a fantastic performance to gain her Pre-Primary in Dance grading, which was administered by the Royal Academy of Dance.
The six-year-old, who attends the Pearl Shaw School of Performing Arts in Colwyn Bay, took the assessment on December 4 and received a certificate for her efforts at the school’s weekly Celebration Assembly on Friday, February 10.
The pupil, who is the daughter of teacher Mrs Culver, will now begin working hard in the hope of achieving further grading success in the future.
Mr McDuff, said: “I would like to offer a huge congratulations to Ava for achieving this grading success, which is thoroughly deserved after all the hard work she has put in both at Pearl Shaw and at home.
“Our pupils do a fantastic job of gaining additional experiences and awards outside of school hours, which is a significant benefit to their development and is something we actively encourage."
Martha Hind was selected to be a part of the Aladdin pantomime at Venue Cymru, Llandudno over the festive period.
The ten-year-old was put forward for the show by Caroline Bell, who works with the pupil at the Pearl Shaw Performing Arts, situated in Colwyn Bay.
The budding star took on a variety of roles throughout the performance, and received a large bunch of flowers to acknowledge her efforts at the end of the show.
Martha is just one of a number of pupils that have been taking to the stage in recent weeks, with Cerys Williams performing as part of the Jack and the Beanstalk show at Theatr Colwyn.
Mr McDuff, said: “Congratulations to Martha on all of her success as part of the Aladdin cast at Venue Cymru.
“She is an enormously gifted pupil who excels in a number of areas, and it was no surprise to hear of her doing so well in what was a very popular and well attended series of performances.
“Everyone is proud not only of Martha, but of all our pupils who are reaching new heights in a wide number of areas and interests outside of the classroom, something we actively encourage as part of their development.”
