Head Boy and Girl appointed
Ariana, Will and Caitriona
We recently announced our Head Boy and Girl for the Prep School, together with their deputies that will carry out a number of duties throughout the academic year.
William Tavernor, who recently smashed the school’s cross-country record, has been named as Head Boy, with classmates Jonathan Osbourne and Llion Morris named joint-deputy Head Boys.
Two pupils will share the role of Head Girl, with Ariana Milligan and Caitriona Searl awarded with the distinction.
They have been joined by Ruby Merrick and Eve Durrans, who have been named as Deputy Head Girls.
Mr McDuff, said: “All of the pupils appointed have demonstrated great leadership qualities, and they are thoroughly deserving of their new roles.
“Leading is one of the tenets that Rydal Penrhos will focus around in the coming months, and we will be looking to those given the roles to become role models for our younger pupils, while also being a source of inspiration both in-and-out of the classroom.
“I wish them well in their new positions and am confident that they will be a rousing success.”
We have also appointed our House Captains for the upcoming year.
A number of pupils have taken up the responsibility of leading their respective houses as they go in search of inter-house honours throughout the academic year.
Ella and Freddie James have been given the role of Brecon captains, while Pembroke will be led by the trio of Phoebe Pritchett, Eleanor Tunstall and Matthew Stubbins.
No fewer than four pupils will be looking to bring success to Snowdon house, with Lily Davies, Martha Hind, Christian Cheesley and George Watkins
The news comes on the back of the appointments of Head Boy, Head Girls and their deputies last week, while the entire Year 6 were all appointed Prefects.
Mr McDuff, said: “Developing our pupils’ leadership skills is something we actively encourage here at Rydal Penrhos, and this sees our Prep children also thrive in a number of roles.
“Whether it be academic, sporting or general school life, our House Captains play a significant part in not only organising their house, but providing an example to others in order to achieve maximum results.”
