Trio make national finals
Cerys Cuddihy, Kevin Farrell and Sydney Johnson, all Year 9 pupils at the school, were crowned champions of the Rotary International’s Youth Speaks competition regional heat, which was held in Darwen, Lancashire.
Competing against schools from across the North West, the trio delivered an outstanding performance and received numerous complimentary comments from the panel of highly skilled and acclaimed judges.
They were awarded first place for their wonderful efforts, and they will now look further success in the national showcase, which will be held on May 7.
This is the third successive heat that the pupils have won first place, with their journey beginning at the local heat at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club.
Mr Cashell, said: “This is a remarkable achievement and everyone is thrilled with Kevin, Cerys and Sydney.
“To reach the national finals of such a prestigious competition is a testament to their dedication and hard work, and we wish them well as they look to secure the national title next month.”
