Julian Barnes takes up role
Julian Barnes, who has held the role of Chairman of the Marketing Committee for a number of years, officially took over from Ian Morris as Chairman of Governors on Wednesday, May 3.
Mr Morris, who has been on the Governing Body at Rydal Penrhos for 45 years, was two-years into his second term as Chairman before relinquishing the post due to ill health.
A former pupil at the school, Mr Barnes has been a board member for the last four years and has been involved in numerous successful strategic projects across various areas of Rydal Penrhos life.
He said: “As an Old Rydalian, I greatly value all that our school stands for and will always put the pupils’ wellbeing and fulfilment at the centre of what we do.
“I see the results of the professionalism of our staff in the way our pupils behave and the results they achieve. The happy faces and polite manner are a huge credit to their work and I look forward to the joy of prize giving and greeting the proud parents.
“Although there will be an opportunity to thank Mr Morris more appropriately, I would just like to give my written thanks to him on behalf of the Governors, Pupils, Parents and Staff for his time served."
