Zac Roberts claims challenge success
Year 6 pupil Zac Roberts recently joined his Senior School counterparts to sit the Junior Maths Challenge, which is run annually by the UK Mathematics Trust.
The competition is normally reserved for those in Year 7 and 8, but such is the 11-year-old’s ability he was entered into the assessment by teaching staff, something that bright with his a notable success.
Zac managed to score 52 for his efforts, which earned him a Bronze certificate after the Trust announced the results this week.
He was one of 11 pupils to gain either a Gold, Silver or Bronze and carries on the incredible success that Rydal Penrhos has gained in the challenge throughout the academic year.
Mr McDuff, said: “What Zac has been able to achieve for someone so young is truly remarkable.
“He was sitting a challenge that has questions devised for Lower School pupils, and for him to take everything in his stride and earn a Bronze certificate shows what a bright mind he has.
“This bodes very well as he prepares to head off to the Senior School this summer and we will follow his achievements with interest.”
