Stage star gives Blood Brothers workshop
Drama pupils got the chance to learn from one of the best in the business at a recent workshop.
Sean Jones, who is currently playing Mickey in the smash hit Blood Brothers, visited the school on Wednesday, June 28, where he passed on some vital tricks of the trade to young hopefuls across a number of year groups.
During the day the actor went over a wide range of different techniques including posture, timing and delivery, before going over some of the musical with one of its leading men.
This is part of a number of special visits from some of Drama’s industry leaders throughout the year, which are set-up by department head Mrs Crimes in a bid to enhance the learning of each pupil taking part.
Mr Jones, said: “Mickey was a part I really, really wanted to play as many actors do, and that was from the first moment I saw it, about 12 years ago when I'd just left drama college.
"It's a dream part, because of the emotions needed and the technique in terms of the physicality of first playing a seven-year old and then going through the teenage years.
“I had a brilliant day with Rydal Penrhos’ Drama department with some really lovely children, and I would like to thank everyone at the school for having me.”
