A* marks highlight early GCSE exams
Year 11 pupils were not the only ones with cause for celebration as Rydal Penrhos School announced its GCSE results.
Mathematics GCSE candidates from Year 10 produced an extraordinary set of results, with all 15 pupils managing to attain A* grades.
Abhishek Bathula, Tallulah Batley, Holly Battersby, Amelia Collins, Eddie Farrell, Matthias Fiorita, Arend Franssens, James Lavery, Edward Patrick, Ioan Peake-Jones, Eric Poon, Bijou Rajagopal, Williams Stewart, Prompt Utenpattanun and Amy Yue all secured top grades, and they will now move on to their Additional Mathematics studies in the hope of obtaining a further GCSE qualification next summer.
The incredible achievements continued in the languages results, with all five pupils that sat either Chinese, Italian or Welsh Second Language achieving A*s.
In addition, of the Year 10 candidates that sat modules in iGCSE exam papers, 48.8 per cent Biology, 44.19% Chemistry and 39.5% Physics managed to attain A* grades.
These achievements complemented the Year 11 results where over 20% of grades were at A* or equivalent with a number of pupils awarded 9s in English which puts them in the top 2% nationwide.
