Host of events to mark return
Boarding Houses brought in the new academic year in style with a series of individual trips.
Netherton boarding pupils’ proved they have a head for heights after pushing their limits at the Beacon Climbing Centre in the heart of Snowdonia, which is the largest venue of its kind in the region.
During the day staff and pupils got the chance to take in activities such as Bouldering, Crazy Climbing challenges and the more advanced high rope climbing.

After a highly exciting series of races, Director of Sport Mr Boyd emerged victorious, and Edwards boarders’ were also treated to a visit to the Deeside Ice Skating Rink for a fun-filled afternoon.
The following day saw each boarding house compete against one another in the annual Inter-Boarding Sports Competition, and this was followed be a special Boarders’ Barbecue to reward each pupil fort their exceptional attitude and application throughout the weekend.
Mr Cashell, said: “This was a fantastic way for our new boarding pupils to become more familiar with their housemates, and for our returning pupils to acclimatise themselves once again with life at the school.
“Our staff do a wonderful job of ensuring that each pupil gets maximum enjoyment from their boarding school experience, and I would like to thank them for their continued dedication.”
