Distinction at West End stage school
Ruby James earned a Distinction for her fantastic work with West End Stage, which is regarded as the top summer school of its kind in the country for young people aged eight to 21.
The passionate pupil was inspired to apply after a number of Dramatic Society performances under the guidance of Head of Drama and English Mrs Crimes in 2016, as she has continued to develop her craft with the programme this summer.
Throughout the week, Ruby joined other students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where notorious actors such as Ewan McGregor, Daniel Craig and Orlando Bloom all trained.
She was put through her paces in Singing, Dance and Drama, as well as receiving specific industry based workshops, led by West End stars with a plethora of experience.
The group also got the chance to experience a West End musical in person, and rounded off their time at the school with their own performance, and she was awarded with the highest mark possible for her exceptional commitment throughout the week.
West End Stage gives young people from all over the UK the chance to perform at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the heart of the West End, home to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.
