Excellence on the Mountain
474 INTERNATIONAL DELEGATES WELCOMED TO AIGLON'S CAMPUS
Excellence on the Mountain
THIS YEAR, AIGLONIANS showed great courage and resourcefulness on expedition, gave their time and energy to good causes globally and excelled academically.
Our IB results are consistently strong, with 14% of students scoring 40 (or more) points out of a maximum 45 points
93% of the Class of 2017 will go on to university and 7% will take a gap year; places won include Stanford, Amherst, Tufts, USC, Babson, Colgate, NYU, Oxford, LSE, UCL, Edinburgh and Bristol
79 students and staff volunteered to help at the local refugee centres; 40 students were commit ed to helping for the entire year
Continuing the values instilled at Aiglon, a team of 4 alumni “Team Coconuts” participated in the 2017 London Moonwalk to raise money for breast cancer research. With almost £20,000, their team and supporters ranked second for their fundraising efforts
Students have worked hard to ensure Aiglon’s unique character is preserved for the next generation: the Class of 2017 raised over CHF 210,000 in support of scholarships and the new Assembly & Arts building
95 new students enrolled for 2017-18, bringing 65 new families into the Aiglon community
Staff turnover remains very low: Hugh Clarke and Sallie O’Connor retired this year after a combined 47 years at Aiglon
“This outstanding year at Aiglon
demonstrates the hard work of our students and the expertise and dedication of our staff, governors and trustees. Well done!”
