Young Performers praised for concert
The first Young Performers’ Concert of the academic year was held at the Lyndon Library on Thursday, October 5, and featured some of the brightest musical minds currently learning at the school.
Under the guidance of Music teacher Mr Davies, the ten pupils put in a host of eye-catching performances, with Liam Farrell excelling in a duel effort on Piano and Clarinet.
Will Glanville and Theo Roberts brought an element of Rock and Roll to proceedings with their rendition of the cult classic Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.
Year 6 pupil Isabella Peevor demonstrated her capabilities with a flawless flute performance, with the pair of Tilly Trueman and Lucy Ranales-Griffiths produced accomplished performances despite being some of the young members of the
Andy Wang, Ella Northcott and India Livingstone also contributed marvellous efforts in what was another outstanding show from the group.
Mr Williams, said: “Congratulations to all our Young Performers on their marvellous contribution to the concert, which further highlights just how much promise each of them has in various areas of music.
“Concerts like this are essential in a child’s development on both the performing side and for their confidence of playing in-front of an audience, and each of them showed a tremendous maturity throughout which contributed significantly to their success.”
