Jasmin appears on BBC 2 show
Jasmin Beckett Donald gave an interview as part of the BBC Two show Saving Lives at Sea, which tells the story of the volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards of the RNLI who rescue thousands of people and save hundreds of lives around our coastline and on the River Thames every year.
The ten-year-old was shown helping father Greg, who is a former Rydal Penrhos pupil and Head of the Conwy Lifeboat Station, on a variety of tasks which also highlighting her intention to carry on the family tradition.
She said: “Everything I know about boats he has taught me taught me, and this has helped build my confidence surrounding the lifeboat and other things on the water.”
Using footage filmed with lifeboat crews and lifeguards carrying cameras, and welcoming film-makers into their everyday lives, this series takes viewers right into the heart of the action, capturing the unpredictable work of the RNLI in never-before-seen detail.
Mrs Hind, added: “This was fantastic exposure for Jasmin, and she conducted herself very well in what must have been a nervous time for her.
“It is great to see the fantastic work being done by the RNLI highlighted in this special series, and it looks as if the Conwy Station is in safe hands for the foreseeable future thanks to the Beckett Donal family.”
