Autumn Term Extra-Curricular options
Pupils will engage in a variety of sports from week to week. This extra-curricular activity will give the pupils the opportunity to engage in physical activity, whilst socialising with peers and learning new skills.
There will be an emphasis on the pupils' well-being, both physical and mental, during this activity.
Coding club is a chance for your child to get into programming in a fun and interactive way. It covers key concepts such as programming syntax, variables, selection and iteration. They will explore these ideas through making their own projects and games in scratch and Python.
An opportunity to practice your conversational Welsh skills in a warm and friendly environment.
Pupils of all Welsh ability and levels are welcome.
Senior pupils can develop the technical aspect of their footballing skills ahead of the competitive season, learn about different in-game situations and develop chemistry during this session with Mr Baker.
All drills will be held under social distancing measures in accordance with regulations from the Football Association of Wales.

The Peer Mentor training Programme helps students to learn how to support each other by offering a listening ear.
Volunteers from Year 12 attend a 12- week training course in which they learn basic counselling and mentoring skills, giving them the ability to:
• act as a support to younger pupils • provide support and encouragement for these pupils • help their mentee to explore ways to move forward for themselves
Brush up on your musical skills in a fun and relaxed setting with our Music Garage, which will be held with a member of staff and go through everything from basic skills to more advanced elements.
Climb the first step on the ladder of one of the most prestigious programmes in the country, which also serves as a supremely useful qualification during university applications.
Those involved will start working towards the Bronze Award, before moving onto Silver and possibly Gold!
A perfect chance for the school's aspiring Rugby players to enhance their potential in a socially distanced coaching environment.
This will give each pupil involved a chance to work on technique, passing and other vital areas during the early stages of their development.
This will be run by a member of the Science Faculty so help can be provided for science subjects or pupils can complete any other prep they have been set.
An opportunity to complete homework in a calm and supportive environment with a qualified teacher on hand to answer any questions you may have.
CCF aims to promote the qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness and a sense of service to the community. Activities include drill, skill at arms, shooting, fieldcraft and first aid on adventurous training activities.
The cadets also have the opportunity to get involved with volunteer and charitable work and to gain national qualifications such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s award.

Philosophy: The Big Questions
Developing students' ability to interrogate information, tackle profound questions and construct compelling arguments. We will explore topics, including: epistemology; the philosophy of mind; the philosophy of religion; metaethics; applied ethics, aesthetics and political philosophy. When circumstances allow we will also invite professional philosophers and academics to give talks on the topics we study.
Aims to assist organisation and independent revision skills.
The sessions will look at different techniques to recap topics, make revision notes and plan time effectively to ensure revision is not left to the last minute.
