Set yourself a physical challenge outside or once you have learned a new route from a local map, explore it by foot or bicycle. Why not plan a few hours walking with the family on a Saturday or Sunday.
Carry your food and water in a rucksack and eat lunch at a new spot in the countryside where you can savour some amazing views.
If taking part in regular exercise is your thing, then set new goals to complete a certain distance each week either running or cycling or both! Track the distance on a fitness app or highlight routes you have run on a local map.
Pin up the map on a wall at home and look at your achievements.
Being active does not necessarily mean walking, running or cycling. Help out in the garden with a physical task; gardening, mowing the lawn, growing some vegetables or helping with any outdoor job will not only bring you together with someone in your family but provide a satisfying way to feel that you have achieved something.
