Llandudno Junction Mosque visit
Year 6 paid a visit to the Canolfan Iman Centre Mosque situated in Llandudno Junction, where they took part in a series of activities designed to enhance their knowledge of Islam.
The group were led by Imam Mohamed, who is a good friend of the school, and he began by speaking about the five Pillars of Islam and their significance both throughout history and in today’s society.
He then showed the pupils the wash room where those using the facility to pray start their ritual, before moving to the main hall to give those visiting a demonstration of the postures of prayer.
Finally, the pupils went into the upper prayer hall to be taught about the Qur'an, the holy book of Islam, and to be shown how Muslims pray.
As a special gift before they left, the Imam wrote out everybody's name in Arabic for them to take away.
