Foreword from the Head
It has been another extraordinary month here at Rydal Penrhos School, and this newsletter is another strong indication of the diverse academic and extra-curricular provision we provide.
We began with another hugely successful Open Afternoon that saw many families descend on our Prep and Senior sites to witness our wonderful school in action, and I would like to personally thank all pupils and staff for their invaluable contribution throughout the event.
This was immediately followed by a wonderful concert from the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral Girls’ Choir, which was a superb occasion and featured performances from our senior choir and Tegid Goodman-Jones.
Our Gold and Silver Duke of Edinburgh candidates were tested to the limits on their respective expeditions in difficult weather conditions and deserve an enormous amount of praise for their efforts, which will hopefully go a long way to them achieving their goals with Dr Lewis.
I was thrilled to see so many supporting both our Harvest Food Drive in aid of Action for Children and the Charity Ball that raised a considerable amount for the Anthony Nolan Trust and Ataxia UK in memory of Thomas and Scarlett.
They were much-loved by all here at Rydal Penrhos and are sorely missed.
With a new website, a rugby tour of northern Spain, a record number of Oxbridge applicants and plenty of sporting achievements to celebrate, there is not a day that goes by that I do not feel an enormous sense of pride towards our pupils and teaching staff.
They all go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure each child and young person feels safe and happy during their time here at the school.
I hope you have all enjoyed the half term break and return refreshed, invigorated and ready to hit the ground running leading into the extremely busy festive period.
Mrs S A Harding Head of Senior School
